What is the difference between multi-cloud and hybrid cloud?

Multi-cloud means using more than one public cloud provider, such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, together. Hybrid cloud connects your own on-premises or private data center to one or more public clouds. Most enterprises run both patterns at once, and we design an architecture that treats them as a single operating environment.

How do you help us avoid vendor lock-in?

We favor open standards and portable tooling: containers and Kubernetes for compute, Terraform for infrastructure as code, and open data formats and APIs. We isolate provider-specific services behind clean interfaces and document a realistic exit plan so switching or renegotiating with a provider is always a practical option, not a threat.

Which connectivity options do you use for hybrid cloud?

For encrypted connectivity over the public internet we use site-to-site and software-defined VPNs. For dedicated, low-latency, private links we use AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, and Google Cloud Interconnect. We often pair a private circuit with a VPN backup so hybrid traffic stays available even if one path fails.

Can workloads really move between clouds without a rewrite?

For most modern workloads, yes. When applications are containerized and deployed to Kubernetes with infrastructure defined in Terraform and Helm, moving them is largely a deployment change. Managed databases and provider-specific services need extra planning, so we identify those dependencies early and design portable alternatives or abstraction layers where portability matters.

How does networking work across multiple clouds?

We build a hub-and-spoke topology using transit gateways and virtual WANs, connect it with private peering, and unify name resolution with consistent DNS. Address ranges are planned to avoid overlap, routing is centralized, and traffic between clouds and sites stays on private, encrypted paths that are monitored end to end.

How do you keep data consistent across providers?

It depends on the workload. We use cross-region and cross-cloud replication for databases, event streaming for near-real-time synchronization, and object storage replication for large datasets. We define which copy is authoritative, how conflicts resolve, and what the recovery point and recovery time objectives are before anything goes live.

What does unified governance across clouds include?

A single control plane for identity and access, tagging and naming standards, policy-as-code guardrails, centralized logging, and consolidated cost management. This lets you enforce security and compliance requirements such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR uniformly, and see spend and posture across every provider in one place.

Is multi-cloud more expensive to run?

It can be if it is unmanaged, because of data egress fees and duplicated tooling. Done deliberately it often lowers total cost: you place each workload where it runs most efficiently, use committed-use discounts per provider, and apply unified FinOps to eliminate waste.
